Good morning,
I've just bought a 2005 1.8 Zetec petrol with 78000 miles to replace a 2002 1.8 Graphite.
I'm happy with it, but I've noticed that the clutch gets stiffer when I've been driving it for a while. When I start it first thing in the morning, it's still a little stiff from the day before but after a couple of presses it goes back to being nice and light and springy, only for it to get stiffer as I drive it. Also, when it does get stiff I can smell a slight 'hot' smell - not a burning smell, just the sort of smell you get when the heaters are on maximum. Not overpowering, just barely noticeable.
The clutch itself works fine - it bites about halfway up and is very smooth.
Has anyone come across this before? The car's still under warranty, so if I do need to take it in I'd like to be armed with as much info as possible.
