I seem to have a problem whereby the coolant light comes on almost every time i start the engine. Obviously i have checked the coolant and its well above the min mark. It goes off when the engine gets warm but when going up steep hills or occasianlly on the motorway it comes up again but goes off after a few minutes each time. Could it be a faulty sensor or could it possibly time to renew the coolant. Its the original ford orange colour as it was when new
The sensor is very sensitive to the level, as you say even going up an incline can bring it on, the tried and tested method to stop it is to have the coolant level just above the MAX mark, this stops the warning light coming on.
