I've just replaced my 1.6 throttle body for a 1.8 and am planning to replace it again with a 2l and a set of 2l cam shafts. Do I need to declare these to my insurance company? And what about a bomz kit?

As someone who has been 'modifying' for many years - mainly classic Rovers - my advice is to declare anything and everything to your insurer. I once had a claim quibbled because of tyre size...

The alternative is to get 'Trade Insurance' like I have now. You get to drive anything as long as you give them a registration number. Can be useful if your daily ride is not too standard...

BTW don't ask about 'Trade Insurance' if you are under 30. It ain't cheap but it's good!

That depends on the company. Could be nothing (unlikly) or it could be £50. Best to ring them.
