Booked my car in for tomorrow for the engine fault light, and Ford said it will be £95 just to read the fault code, and guess what, the warranty don't cover that

How can they charge so much to read a code ?

Yeah you're paying an hour's labour for something that takes a minute or two to do.... I'd personally take it to a (Ford) Diesel specialist who will likely do the diagnosis a lot more accurately and a lot more cheaply

ahhhh fair play , didnt know it was that quick , mind you , i suspect ford charge a minimum of an hour the same as most dealers , not saying it is right of course

My car man who works on all my cars uses the Snapon unit that can read and reset all fault codes on most cars. When ever I am in to see him he hooks it up and checks my car for me

Just spoke to the garage I got the car from, and they said return it to them, and they will sort it all out for me as I've only had it 1 month
