Booked my car in for tomorrow for the engine fault light, and Ford said it will be £95 just to read the fault code, and guess what, the warranty don't cover that :mad:

How can they charge so much to read a code ?

because you will be paying for an hour or whatever labour i reckon :shifty:

Yeah you're paying an hour's labour for something that takes a minute or two to do.... I'd personally take it to a (Ford) Diesel specialist who will likely do the diagnosis a lot more accurately and a lot more cheaply :D

ahhhh fair play , didnt know it was that quick , mind you , i suspect ford charge a minimum of an hour the same as most dealers , not saying it is right of course :mad:

Thats a bitch!

My car man who works on all my cars uses the Snapon unit that can read and reset all fault codes on most cars. When ever I am in to see him he hooks it up and checks my car for me
