My airbag light is flashing 4 times - which according to previous threads and the mirez site means I need to check the pretensioner connections under the front seats.

The mirez website doesn't mention anything about disconnecting the battery before doing this - it only stipulates that you wait 15 minutes from when you switched the ignition off.

I don't want to disconnect the battery because I don't have the stereo security code.

So, is it safe to disconnect and then reconnect the pretensioner connecters whilst the battery is still connected ? - Or is there a risk the pretensioners could go off ?

TIA

There is no risk, the SRS system is only powered up when the ignition is on plus a short time after its turned off, hence the need to wait 15 mins after the ignition is turned off, no need to disconnect the battery.
