Door Removal - how easy?

I've got to pick up a N/S/F door from the scrappy today and I have to remove it myself. How easy is it to do this? According to Haynes you just remove the check strap and knock out the hinge pins. Can it really be this simple?

simple answer is yes.Don't forget to have someone or something supporting the door though.oh and i think theres little clips you have to remove from the pins.
If the hinge pins prove difficult to remove you can remove the whole hinge assemblies from inside the car tho the mounts for the top hinge are right up behind the dashboard which really needs removing to get at them.
Also dont forget to disconnect the wiring loom/s they just disconnect at the A pillar with a firm anticlockwise twist.

If the pins are difficult to remove can I not just unbolt the hinge from the door and leave the hinge itself on the car at the scrappy? I can then use the hinge on my own car when I fit the door.
i think you can but then you have to faff about trying to allign the door, anyway the pins should not be difficult to remove they should just pop out :L
Thanks philmon. The dented door on the nearside has been really bugging me. It'll be great to get rid of it at last. :thankyousign:
