I am looking at getting a cheap runaround mk1 while my mk2 is poorly and the one I have my eye on needs a driveshaft fitting, how easy is it to fit or how much is it likely to cost at a garage please.
Any help will be greatfully received.

Depends which side d/shaft you need to change.

Passenger side is easy,bottom ball joint,driveshaft nut,link off/track rod end.

drivers you can split where the bearing carrier sits.

basically the same principle for removal as the passengers.
