Right V'6 ers.....On the water rail that connects both heads together, there are two sensors, both seem to be called ECT as in engine coolant sensors. My question is for the one nearest the bulkhead with a white/grey plug on it? does anyone know the finis code and the actual operation of the sensor.

That one is the ECU temp sender. If you disconnect it the rad fans will come on at full speed about 10 secs after you start up even if the motor is stone cold.

Yep. Fuelling will be inaccurate if the engine temp sensor is faulty.

Well, i have just replaced the sensor and cleaned all the secondries at the same time so will see if it cures the fault codes as regards to the lamba sensors, let you know the result!!

Sorted!!! :thumbup: As someone with the4 same fault code pointed out that it was possibly the front lamba at fault, even though its only a year old i changed it, fault code gone, car running well!!! :woot: :woot:
