As Peter says, it immobilises the car so the only way to steal it is to tow it.

Under the "extras" menu you will find the DTC reader and immobiliser, it can then only be remobilised by the handset that immobilised it.

Here is another seller who thinks he can just "sell on" a Bluefin without having to have it reset by Superchips.

Does the seller not realise why there are so many for sale for peanuts.

I wouldn't see it as a "little" error. Moreover a scam to catch people who don't know.
The seller should clearly see the true low value of many other units that are advertised.
I know I am a synical swine but the vast majority of these e bay sellers know exactly what they are up to

Yeah loads for sale for under £30 when i looked a while back.

Superchips ask for the handsets serial before they will quote on a reset price.

The theory is good but having to buy a handset which is basically useless and

just landfill for people that do not want to mess with trying to resell them.

When I looked a few months back they still had the option on the website to get a price and for the 2.5t engine, it was £225 to reset it.

And I believe a LOT if not ALL of the sellers of the 2nd hand ones on eBay know it needs doing but hope there is one poor sod out there who doesn't.

Yes £225 is steep, I was thinking of the £30 pound items.

When I sold my ST a few months back never left Bluefin Handset in car, assuming it would be lost long before reaching new owner.

I advised Car Sales at the time suggesting they could pass my name/number to buyer, assuming they may contact regarding history of the car.

Obviously they didn't do this and of course new Registration Documents no longer give previous owner details. But at least he will still benefit from map which was left on car.
