Today,I've done the ECU reset as adviced in these forums. The results are impressive! The diesel clutter that I used to get at around 1800RPM, following a software upgrade from Ford, has gone. Also, the hesitation that I used to experienced when pulling in the 1st gear it seemed to have gone too.
Despite the fact that I had to wait for nearly 1 hours for the engine to reach its normal operating temperature, it has been worth it.
Thanks for the tread "Resettig ECU as good as chip" for making this happen.
Let's hope that all these positive changes will last.......

The car is an 54 tdci 130, 21k

good news, glad its worked well. If you do it when you've racked up the miles some more on it, you'll get even more of an improvement. :L

and if you get the engine up to temp before you disconnect the battery it will only take a few mins when you reconnect it...
