just bought an 05 zetec S TDCi - no engine & battery covers fitted. Have been told that they stopped fitting themn 18 months ago apart from on STs!! Is this true? Engine bay looks messy. Any ideas on how to get some, any breakers you can recommend. :sad:

Apparently a couple of years ago they stopped fitting them to the Euro III engines, but still fitted them to the Euro IV engines. I know my brothers 55 Reg Euro IV Titanium X has them - but his is the latest facelift car so that may be the actual reason why.

If yours is a Euro IV engine and the above is true then maybe they were taken off, or just maybe had never been fitted.

You could get them from Fords, but I guess they aren't gonna be cheap.

Yeah I heard this too! I guess the easy way is to go for a test drive in an ST and pinch the engine and battery covers when the salesman isn't looking :}

Engine covers were fitted on all types but now only ghia etc and above.
You could get one from a scrap yard or buy a service part, it should still fit.
