engine cuts out.

hi there i have a ford mondeo 02 tdci about 2 months ago i the engine cut out while my wife was driving it. had a diagnostic test on it and it came up with po521 or 251 one of them. i was told that it was a fuel filter, so changed it and nothing happen, still cuts out, then told it was a fuel sensor so had a new fuel pump put on the car. and you guessed it still cut out. so could anyone help me with this problem pls oh also every now and then if i hit 3000 revs the engine will just go mental and the rev counter goes off the clock all by its self and i have to turn off the engine quickly its driving me mental trying to find out what it is! i have changed the cam sensor which is another thing i was told it was.

i would change the crank sensor,try that and let us know,thxs
THANKS FOR YOUR REPLY I WILL TRY THAT AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS. THANKS AGAIN, ILL LET YOU KNOW WHAT HAPPENS

lets hope the engine isnt "scavenging" (engine oil getting sucked into the inlet/combustion system)...
I have had a few mondys at work with the same problem, we replaced the cam sensor and fixed the problem
