Engine Malf Light and no Boost

135 Views 4 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  glasgowsheep1981
Hello all! Could anyone give me a hint as to where to find the fault causing this issue?

2.0 TDCi Titanium X, 156k miles.

Accelerating uphill, loss of boost, engine malf light comes on. No other issues, no smoke, no knocks or bangs, still drives fine, just no boost.

Engine off and on and fault cleared, but will happen again next time I accelerate hard.

RAC been out, no fault codes, turbo hoses OK, no visible issues under bonnet, RAC could not determine cause.

I can take it local garage, but was hoping there may be a few obvious things to check first that a numpty with a socket set can do at home.

Thanks all.

Possible maf sensor fault. You would need to get a diagnostic done to get the fault code and go from there

Wouldn't the RAC code scan have picked up a error code for this?
Scan for codes. If the MIL is on there WILL be codes. THe OBD system is there to aid in diagnosis of faults and can point you in the right direction. Far better than guessing
