I have just bought a set of facelift 18" Focus ST rims to use as winter wheels on my Mondeo TXS,my TXS wheels are 8x19 ET55 with 235/40/19,the Focus wheels are 8x18 ET52.5 to which i am going to fit 235/45/18 winter tyres. Will the difference in the ET be a problem? I didn't realise the difference in offset untill i had bought the wheels.

But wheel shapes vary, so check for clearance issues when fitting them also.

Don't forget the clearance will change as you hit a pothole also, so ensure you

have the space between the wheel/tyre and suspension/bodywork.

So i take it the lip on the Focus rims will be 2.5mm further out than the Mondeo rims? If that is the case i reckon i should be o.k.,they are fitted with scrap 235/40/18 tyes so i can use them as a mock up for clearance when they arrive.
