Car been odd today. Acting like turbo fault ( poor acceleration/stalling at low revs) then back to full turbo then no turbo.
Once home, all normal in dashboard. Switch off, then as I walk away I hear fan type noise coming from engine bay. Continuous. Open bonnet to confirm not radiator fan. Go into house. Pee.
Back out and still fan noise.

Restart engine. Check temps etc.
Stop engine. Noise now stopped after approx one minute.
Possible turbo " spinning down" due to high temp?

Unlikely, the turbo will spool down very quickly with the engine off. Heater blower fan?

Clear the errors and see which ones come back.

Damn. New temperature sensor was due to arrive today but...

I've got to drive 100 miles every day next week.

Will lack of functioning engine temperature sensor mean the engine gets to hot?

morew likely it will have the opposite effect and run more fuel and less timing to be sure it doesnt damage itself.
