After a short stint on a rolling road last Saturday, my MK2 ST24 1998 Mondeo has had an intermittent fault with the ABS & TC lights illuminating and not extinguishing until restarting the car..

then tonight after a longish drive (40 miles or so) the Speedo & mileometer have stopped working.. but i havent had any ABS/TC light problems..

Are these totally unrelated or is it a wheel speed sensor playing havoc?

I know on some later Vauxhalls that one of the rear ABS sensors feeds the Speedo signal aswell but i am lead to belive that the Mondeo (MTX) has a separate VSS which attaches to the gearbox....

any suggestions??

As my wife is due to start learning to drive soon (in themondeo aswell GULP!) and she wont be able to do tihs properly until we get a speedo working again!

Thanks

lol, agreed! but the idea being once she has passed, she will use the ST as the family car to ferry the kids around in and i will et myself a smaller runaround for work and fun!.... like an ERST!!! :woot:

Plus she loves the ST too, so that would mean its looked after equally as well..

Part of her training for learning to drive involves me teaching her where and where not to park. how not to kerb alloys, and to park as far away from the trolley park at the supermarket as possible! :D

Take my advise, get a smaller car as the run around unless your last name, is Shell, Esso or Texaco. We run a pair of 200's and we can get through 80 quids worth of fuel a week just by running the kids around.

has been discussed.. she's not started driving yet so i guess its all pipeline stuff at present.

Might see if i can get her a golf cart or something... at least that way if she crashes it i wont feel so bad either! lol
