Hello,

My '07 reg Galaxy Ghia currently has 17inch rims with 225/50ZR17 98W tyres. I find the ride to be quite harsh on typical roads. It needs new tyres so I'm thinking of replcaing the 17 inch rims with 16 inch rims so that I can fit higher profile tyres to give a more cushioned ride.

I'm not bothered about handling, just ride comfort and I think that higher profile tyres give more air and sidewall rubber between me and the road.

Does anyone know what the critical factors are when changing rim sizes - I've checked the handbook and 16 inch rims were an option when new, but I don't know much about rims, offsets, stud patterns etc. Would 16 inch rims automatically fit over my brake calipers? I'm presuming they would because, as I say, 16 inch rims were an option. I just want to be sure before I buy rims that don't fit or have other problems.

Regards,

Just make sure they are 16" from a Galaxy and you wont go far wrong.

Mondeo wheels would fit but unsure if they have the extra load rating that the

Galaxy requires?

Sorry for the later reply, Purple, I had other problems to deal with - like replacing the turbocharger! - but thanks for the advice.

When I get the chance to re-visit the wheel issue, I'll be sure to keep your advice in mind.

Regards,

Aidan
