Help,
On my way to work today I noticed a lack of power and then the [color:red]glow plug light was flashing.

Later when leaving work I found when I turned the ignition to the preheat position the [color:red]glow plug light flashes and when I start it, it runs like a bag of s**t.

You need to get it to Ford, or a good Diesel Specialist. There is a fault somewhere on the system which I guess is either a faulty injector(s) or cam sensor.

same happened with mine!! about 3 weeks ago! there is a thread on here and SMF!

Long story short, flashing GPL, lack of power across all the range, it maybe still had a little in it, turbo was working i think as i could hear it spinning up though that may have been the wastegate now.....loads of people are led to believe this is injector failure requiring replacement of the injector some garages recommend changing all 4 and the ICM. I took it to a diesel specialist who told me that Ford garages change these at the slightest problem total cost for all 4 including ICM about £1800, the diesel specialist recalibrated my injectors and updated the ICM with new software total cost including the first garage who were sh!t £152. I'd hazard a guess that if someone reads a code for you from the ECU you'll get a cylinder above knock threshold P2337 i think mine was cyl 2. Car runs better than ever. The diesel specialist reckons the delphi injectors just need a quick refresh now and again......see my thread for more info!

Ok, took it to Ford service centre they had it for a few hours.

They have re-programmed the PCM (Power train Control Module, I think) with the latest version of firmware and recalibrated the injectors.

All for less than £70. :woot:

at last a Ford place not intent on ripping me off, my local dealer quoted minimum of £70 + Vat just for a diagnostic check.

By the way, the guy at the service centre says this is quite a common fault and they are not really sure as to the cause, although he thinks it could be contaminated fuel but not really sure.

Thats a result :L Are you sure they recalibrated the injectors though as this alone they normally charge about £50 per injector. If they have - mega result (thats if it solves the problem - fingers crossed for you).
