Not been on here for some time, glad to see the site is still going.

My trusty old 1999 focus TDDI has a small problem. I noticed an oil deposit on the front grill, on inspection it seems to be coming through the air filter. I have had many opinions on this but the overall one seems to be the turbo has either given up the ghost or a seal has broken. The car runs perfectly well except a small lack of power on acceleration.

Not being a mechanically minded person means I have no clue.

Hopefully someone on here will be able to assist.

Cheers

if the turbo seal had gone there would be black smoke from the exaust and excessive oil consumption.

if the oil is from the airbox its usually from the crankcase ventilation hose

check the crankcase ventilation hoses arnt blocked and clean out the air filter.

oil on the grill can be from a loose or leaking intercooler hoses so check these too
