Oz the wheels are RH alurad Topline AA rims 19" to suit audi/merc fitment and are simular to the merc lorinser/aero rims........pcd is 112 on 5 stud granadas the same pcd as mercs........

back when i had the granada 2.8 i used to leave my mates behind in the snow in their XR3 escorts out on Dartmoor in the winter on our hillclimb route .. i always made it up and they didnt lol

But Dave :whistling: surely thats just ONE aspect of driving style and pro`s for the rwd. The article covers ALL driving styles. And remember - all you need to do is adapt YOUR driving style to front wheel drive as have the competitors in the new Ford Fiesta rallye challenge series.

ive got to say i loved my mk1 mex for tail out fun but the astra has it in the bag around corners as long as its dry other wise you seem to go straight on no matter what you do with the steering wheel but more experinenting is needed with the left foot braking never had the chance at driving a 4x4 at speed for long but ive had a quick blast on a fully preped scubi an that was like drivin on velco no fun in that though it did seem to understeer abit

I used to have a Sierra Sapphire with a modded 1600 Pinto in it. Was faster, better looking (in my opinion), handled so much better, and was generally a better drive than the Mk2 1800 Verona i replaced it with. Sorry i ever got rid of it and i dearly miss it! Im not slagging the Mondeo off by any means cos i love it to bits, but for me it was always let down by the fact that its FWD. Im not sure im a fan of 4WD either, my brother used to have an XR4x4 which was bags of fun and quick with it. But the RWD feels nicer somehow, and isnt weighted with the 4x4 plumbing. I cant help thinking that if my ZS was driven by the rear wheels, it would be so much better for it! (not that its bad in the first place!)

I used to have a 3 Door Sierra with a modified 2.1 Pinto in it and it went like stink! Loved it in the winter as it was one of the only cars on my road that could negotiate the hills where i lived :L God i loved my 3 door and it is still going strong today!!!!!

I stand corrected, they do look like the ones that were on my Dad's Scorpio though.

Not seen mine for years, probably been scrapped now for all i know. The scrotum i sold it to never looked after it. The noise those Pinto engines make when theres a K&N bolted to the Weber carb is awesome, especially with a straight through Ashley exhaust system!! Only problem i used to have with mine was that it kept eating its own diffs! Went through 4 of them before i swapped the rear drivetrain for 2.0 stuff. I would have another one tomorrow without a second thought!
