Anyone have any idea whats causing the rad fans to be on all the time on a Mk3? I was thinking that the sender may be faulty? is this right?

Is your aircon set to auto?

If so, the A/C compressor is probably constantly on and thus keeping the fans on.

Check under the bonnet to see if your A/C compressor is running. If so, set your A/C to manual and see if it switches off and in turn the fans switch off.

naa. ac not on, i keep forgetting i have that!

Im thinking that maybe there is a wax stat or something that needs replacing. I dont think its the temp sender as the gauge on the cluster reads ok.. This car has some serious gremilns..

i dont know about eth mk3, but iv found on my mk1 that to keep the low speed fn off, i need to suppy a voltage to the relay. Once the voltage is switched off, then teh fan comes on. Its kinda strange to be honest. Could be a faulty wire or connection or something if teh system works teh same
