Hi guys, I'm currently looking to pick up a used Ford Edge. Can't decide between the Titanium or Sport models. Also can't decide between the 2016 and 2017. Figured I would dig in to the posts here and see if I can tell what the opinions are on those two trims and years. If anyone would like to opine on either I'd love the feedback.Haven't had a Ford in years, but have been impressed with the newer models being released.

We don't get many posts from Edge owners on here. It is quite a new model. most of our membere are driving older cars. Still I hope yuo get some feedback to help you decide.

I currently have a Mk3 Mondoe and a Discovery, been thinkingof replacing them bot with a newer 4x4, currently considering Freelanders and Kuga.

Here's my opinion. A family member has an Edge Sport (Manual) which I occasionally drive and I had an extended test drive in a Titanium Auto a while back as I was looking at buying one too. The Sport looks much better but that is colour dependent, darker colours suit the Titanium better as it has more chrome. I preferred the Titanium to drive, I didn't like the Adaptive steering that is standard on the Sport, both had the 20" alloys (the 19"s are standard on the Titanium and are too small and don't look great) so the ride was similar. The (optional) half leather in the Sport is preferable to the (optional) full/perforated leather in the Titanium, again that's personal preference but the half leather holds you in place better I think. The upgraded sound system is standard in the Sport and is very good. I'm open to correction but I think the only difference between '16 and' 17 is Sync 2 vs Sync 3. You can read elsewhere on this site about Sync 2 vs Sync 3, I had Sync 2 on my Mk5 Mondeo, hated it, will not buy another car with it. My wife's Kuga has Sync 3, much better. If I could I would buy a Sport with Sync 3.

As chance would have it my Mondy was in for a new parking sensor today and the dealer loaned me their demo Edge. It was a Titanium with perforated leather, the first one I tried had full non-perforated leather. The perforations must provide some additional grip over the full smooth leather as I felt like I wasn't sliding around as much. I'd still prefer the partial leather but said I would clarify my opinion above, there does appear to be a difference between full and perforated leather when it comes to holding you in place.
