Help!!

As per title, the boot of my 1999 mondeo estate won't open...........

either with the key or by pressing the button to activate the sensor....

Tried lots of locking/unlocking...no joy.....

Fuses all ok.

Can't even get to the locking mechanism without yanking off teh interior trim...don't want to do that just yet....

Any ideas??

(had to let the dogs out by taking down the back seats today, not ideal...

all i can tell you is that if you go into the boot and remove the plastic covers you can use pliers to pull the cable and open it :)
thanks, least that gets it open to begin with.

Any other tricks anyone knows before I start to mutilate the car.

I've only had it a week, and was starting to like it...
Doesn't haven't a boot release button up front so will it definately have cables??

...logic would say just a mechanism if it's a key release and sensor?

..not that I know Fords lol
hi mate just had same prob on my s reg mk2 estate however managed to open it without a busting trim if you go into your boot and get a this file or flat head screwdriver you can push it down into the gap of the catch at bottom where boot meets catch and if you push the inside of the catch to the right it should open ive got mine iopened now sorry if this is hard to understand, mine also has a electric button inside the casing but its still not ideal climbing into the boot then pushing the interior trim to open the boot lid, currently trying to fit a mk1 cable system but had to cut away around the catch part of the floor as theres a skin inplace of where it should go
if anyone has any problems i think i have the motors and sensors as a replacement if you need them..

Thanks, so if I swap the sensor that should then enable me to press the lock to open the boot again?

The motor is whats connected to the central locking, isn't it?
the sensor tells the motor what you are doing.

sensor--->motor---->central locking

thats the way i would go about problem solving.
