My speedo' has started to drop back to zero intermittently. When it comes back on again, the low fuel warning light comes on for 3 seconds, as it does when you turn on the ignition. This makes me suspect that the problem is with the power supply to the instrument panel. Loose connection? Faulty voltage regulator?

This is a common problem apparently buddy :L

Im trying to find the link to a fix, basically its a faulty resistor on one of the tracks in the speedo, easy fix is to replace the clocks, but if u want to wait i can find the link for u, or if anyone else can find it :L

Dont worry

I had this same fault on my mk2, never got round to fixing it before i sold the car as it started happening less. I did however buy a set of clocks which are still in my loft, interested?

If it is a faulty resistor, I can desolder and solder these. All I need is the location of the offending one. The resistance value would be nice, but the coloured stripes on them is a standard code for this.
