Hi

Sounds like release bearing is starting to break up, unfortunately this involves removing gearbox.

Thanks Peter.

If it's only just started making that noise, roughly how long do you think before the clutch fails completely?

Hi

Mine started with the same noise, for some reason it seemed much more severe when going to reverse up a slope.

In the midst of moving house and traded car, wish now I kept it for a hobby

On the negative side, mine was doing that - the previous owner, to 'save money ' had changed the clutch but not the csc, and I was living with the sound when finally the csc exploded, covering the clutch in hydraulic fluid and I had to be towed home. I'd say that if yours starts to sound noisier, do something about it.

it's madness to save money on csc when doing the clutch job given how much needs to come off...
