Was working fine until yesterday,now the display has gone all weird,and none of the function buttons are working,is it the RIBBON,if it is
are they hard to fit,does anyone on MEG fit them.

ive got teh 9021 or something. a mask unit whatever lol. i bought a ribon off ebay when mine split, was very very easy to fit, took about 5 mins! only cost a tenner for the ribbon unit too :L

Is there soldering involved,and much dismateling.

no no soldering iron. you just take the to poff the unit, about (4 tiny phillips screws) then you will take about 3 screws out to move the cd drive and you will see both ends of the ribbon. one end just pops into a slot, th eother end is secured by 2 more timy screws on the backing plate of the facia. very easy.

Fitted a new ribbon today,cost me £15,unit is
now back working perfectly. :L
