Lambda Sensors

I'm having a problem with my V6 Cougar (same engine as the Mk3 V6). I have been getting the following codes since I got the car:

P0136 - Oxygen Sensor Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1, Sensor 2)

P0141 - Oxygen Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1, Sensor 2)

I have replaced the sensors on the front and rear downpipes but am still getting the codes. Have I completely misunderstood how these sensors are laid out and changed the wrong one (is Bank 1 Sensor 2 the one underneath after the main Cat?). The sensor in question shows up on the diagnostics as reading 0 Volts (before and after replacing the downpipe sensors). I'm a bit stumped at the moment and hoping it's not a wiring loom or ECU problem

There are 4 sensors on the V6. The codes you have are saying that the post-cat sensors are faulty not the pre-cat ones which you appear to have changed.

Bank1 is the back of the engine as you stand looking at it from the front of the car. Firstly, I would check that the wiring is ok from the sensor as I have seen a wire wear through in the past that was not held up properly.

If the post-cat sensors go, you should see no driveability problems with the car as they are only used for monitoring and do not affect the engine management or emissions.
