I replaced the front indicator bulbs for some 35 LED ones and they are great, however,I have black eyes on the car so I removed the orange plastic to clean up the look of the headlight.

just out of interest did you get a red LED bulb or a white one,and how many LED did it have in it?,I think the rear lights are realy bright on the MK3 I am always checking the fog light switch as they are so bright.

I guess LED tail lights are great if you have some lexus type lights which dont have the red plastic ,then everything looks clear but shines the colour that you want, but if you were fitting them in the standard lights then I'd stick with the standard bulbs.

The good thing obviously with the LED bulbs they should last for ages. :D

They are rubbish in my oppinion :(
partly agree... i am not sure why.. but it seems the yellow LED bulbs are particularly bad... the white ones for the reverse light and the brake lights are fine... but it seems the yellow ones for the indicator are particularly bad... will check them out again during daytime to see how they are doing...

quite a likely chance that another tenner wasted really... :headshake:

The good thing about the LED.. apart from lasting ages is the funky way they light up.. instant on and off unlike the 'graduate' feeling on a normal bulb...

I had orange bulbs in the indicator lenses of my old focus, which had ultra smoked tail lights, they worked brilliantly for about 2 years! Looking into getting some for the mondy, but i'll probably remove the orange lens from inside the light unit first!

are the indicator bulbs LED ones or normal ones? Just took the LED indicator bulbs out from mine coz they are not working too well.... being too dim and one of the resistors aren't really working.....

I was waiting for some of those indicator load resisdtors, for a couple of weeks now,in the end I have just wired a spare bulb holder and bulb into the indicator circuit ,and now everyting flashes at the right speed.

which bulbs did u go for and where did you get them from?

I got mine from Solware... some unknown brand for the white one which worked fine... and then the same unknown brand of yellow bulbs which were so dim

Then the red ones they gave me the 19LED prism ones.. weren't bad...

Took off the yellow bulbs, the resistor set and packed them up... may well see them on fleebay later on... hopefully will get a few quid back!

Right... cheers mate

Although i think i am going to drop any further LED conversion ideas for a while... just had the tyres changed and will need a brake change pretty soon...

Pretty happy with the brake light and the reverse lights and they will stay on.
