Hello

I'm already an owner of Ford Mondeo Mk3 GhiaX 2.0 Tdci.

I need a second car and because I love this model I'm interested to buy a Ford Mondeo Mk3 ST version (2.2L TDCI Duratorq Straight-4, 155PS).

Must have:

- body style: ESTATE

- engine: 2.2L TDCI

- seats: RECARO

- colour: blue (preferably)

I would like to have:

- SUN ROOF

- xenon

- parking sensors

Wait your offers!

Kind regards

Flo

You will be much more succesful if you ask on a mondeo ST facebook group.

You are looking for a very rare car so be prepared to wait a long time :)

There are plenty of diesel estates (and ST diesels in general) but most ST diesels came with normal seats. Getting recaros will make your search harder and wanting a sunroof will make it harder still. Xenons and rear parking sensors are fairly common.
Also worth thinking about if you want a basic stereo or touch screen sat nav.

Looking on the brightside, at least you arent looking for a blue 220 estate like in your last pic, that would be harder again :)

No, thats a lovely ST220. The OP wants a smoky tractor estate :)
To be honest I'm not a diesel fan, but I have checked the MOT history:

It's something strange with this car, the picture with the front seat where the belt is covering one of the sides of the seat, aren't pictures with the dasboard, no xenon, no parking sensors, I can't see if the seats are full electric ...

Thank you very much for your quick answer.

Recaros with be the first must be, the xenons tbh I would like to have them, but I'm quite happy also with my halogen headlights which I have them now on my ford mondeo mk3 ghia X. The sun roof probably will remain just a dream.

These days I searched on internet and I found only 1 mondeo mk3 st estate with sun roof, conclusion - very rare.

This one could be a good alternative:

@raynkar: like I was saying above, I'm not a fan of diesel, I have other two cars which are petrol (3.5L and 2.2L). I said I would like TDCI because I thought 3.0L V6 isn't a good engine, but these days I read more about this engine.

Thank you, I will take a look.

The first one - I can't see the picture at a good resolution. I will try to email him.

The second one:

Also I found this one:

@raynkar PS: I have already one car (Astra G Coupe) with an interior quite similar, so it's fine:

Me again! For this one which is located in Southampton:

Offside Front Front position lamp(s) not working (1.1.A.3b)
Offside Rear Tyre has ply or cords exposed (4.1.D.1b)
  • Advisory notice item(s)

Nearside Rear Upper Trailing arm rubber bush deteriorated but not resulting in excessive movement (2.4.G.2)
Offside Rear Trailing arm rubber bush deteriorated but not resulting in excessive movement (2.4.G.2)
Nearside Rear Inner Tyre worn close to the legal limit (4.1.E.1)

This is his answer:

Hi. Mot mileage you noted is wrong. Garage entered it incorrectly when retested but then issued another to correct it so the database you checked it on is out of date. New rear tyres fitted and bulb fixed. Trailing arms not done but very common and only an advisory. Fr shocks, springs and anti roll bar links brand new. Centre exhaust flexis New and pads and discs all round newish. Some stone chips on front end and hairline crack on fr bumper but difficult to see. Also has 2012 map disc I recently bought . Great car alround even considering it's age and mileage. I don't want to and don't need to sell it but it's not used now. We're selling as my youngest is now starting school so my wife is working more and cannot afford the fuel for her trips to work.

The duratec 3.0 litre engine is a very good engine and doesn't suffer many issues. The real downside to them is the fuel economy. I get 35-36mph on motorways, 19mpg around town and as low as 12mpg if I'm racing.
They can suffer from oil starvation if you corner repeapedly at high speeds but not too much else goes wrong with them, its just little things like one of the breather pipes is prone to split once it gets old.

One major downside to the 220 is that the engine doesnt pull much vacuum, this means that you need to apply more pressure to the brake pedal than other mondeos with the 1.8 or 2.0 petrol engines or any of the diesels.
Glad you are into red too, thats my interior above :)

Good to know.

So 3.0V6 could be a good and reliable variant.

About the fuel economy with my actual Ford Mondeo mk3 2.0 TDCI I had yesterday 70 mpg from Glasgow to London and overall Glasgow-London-Glasgow 67mpg - almost 1000 miles.

UPDATED:

- engine: 2.2TDCI or 3.0 V6

If you are going to do a lot of miles in a 220 the fuel bill would be a major thing to think about. The 220 would have used literally twice as much petrol as your TDCi used diesel.

No No!!!

The actual Mondeo mk3 GhiaX TDCI will remain in family so the new ST/ST220 will be used only local, by myself.
