lowered the back of the car (so far, ran out of time after snapping the pinch bolts both sides) and it doesnt seem much firmer at all. there is less travel in the suspension but its not that great really, anyone have any experience with this?
my initial idea was to lower it on the standard shocks, then when they go to pot il replace them with shortened shocks.
just had a call off the garage the cars being serviced at now and there is a problem with the suspension on the back!! something about one side is solid and the other side felt loose like there was very little resistance. not sure what it could be but im of to the garage when my lift gets here to see for myself. so i guess this might explain why its not right..
not sure of the brand either i brought them off a megger, and they where a fair bit shorter than the standard springs and measuring from the centre of the wheel to the arch either side 40mm give of take a few mm. not sure of rating either as they where not in origional packing or anything. they didnt look used though, there was hardly a mark on them and not obvious signs of ever being fitted before.
if they are v6 springs they will actually measure the same length as 4-pot (albeit these will be shorter as they are lowering springs) but the spring rate is harder on v6 springs, so your car wont have enough weight to compress them down as far so the suspension would feel soft?
its worse on the front, i've seen a mk2 with v6 springs on the front (i nearly died laughing)
[quote name=percys belgian bun]maybe they're odd springs?

I agree with the front but would the rears be different?
I would guess the rear end is the same weight as a v6 as all the weight is at the front
at the garage today there is play in the nearside spring.. and the offside is perfect and firm.
so its odd springs or one of the plates is missing from the top mount maybe? i hope there not odd they where definetly 100% shorter than standard ones by a fair whack, though. painted red too (origional finish) so i dont think they are v6 springs.
