Hi there

Have just had my 130 tdci zetec s for a few days now. I have noticed when idling it is very lumping compared to my 115tdci focus.

Is there a known problem or an ecu upgrade to rectify this.

As i have only got the car im not sure if this is common.

Thanks again

Andy

Do the revs move about? Is this when warm on cold or both?

lumpy idling can be caused by many differnt things

ISCV or Idle control valve being a bit blocked up, very easy to fix if you have an 8mm spanner and some WD40

Can be caused by a faulty TPS or throttle position sensor, again fairly cheap and easy to replace if you need to,

Dead Lambda or HEGO sensors in the exhaust, not so cheap but easy to source.

Although your driving a diesel, im not entirely certain if the ISCV applies, but in most cases it's the sensors that cause the problems. It could also be the glow plugs on their way out. But i doubt it will be a tough thing to fix

By the way, Zetec TDCi? How, what where?
