Missing Front Crash Sensor

Hi all,

I just bought a 2003 Mondeo TDCi Zetec at auction and am delighted with it so far. Just a couple of niggles though and one is airbag code 42.

This pointed me to the front crash sensor. When I took the front grille off and had a rummage around, I found a cable end with a broiwn two pin female plug (the crash sensor plug) but no crash sensor anywhere!!

I imagine it's meant to be bolted on to the small plate beneath the bonnet catch housing. Am I right? Can anyone think of a good reason why it isn't there?

Probably because it went tits up and someone took it of and attempted to do the bypass mod to stop the light. Doesnt sound like they got to far tho....

Short term fix * I THINK * is to bridge the two pins.

no, bridging the pins just brings the light on too :(

only fix is to replace the missing sensor i think

Got a sensor from a breakers and Air bag light has gone. Thanks for replies
