Hi there,

I have just bought a 97 Mk2 1.8 Diesel. The airbag light is constantly flashing on the dash. Someone has told me it is often something under the seat which is broken. Can anyone advise me? Is it likely to be this part under the seat? Or something expensive?

If it flashes 4 times then it is most likely the pretensioners. Look for 2 yellow plugs under each front seat and make sure they are connected properly, unplug and plug back in if necessary. (Don't forget to disconnect the battery!)

Had the same problem on mine. I didn't even need to unplug it. I couldn't really see what I was doing under the seat, but it felt like a sleeve on the conector had come adrift. I slid it along and all has been well ever since.

I unplugged both the drivers one and the passenger one, but light is still flashing...

unplug and clean the contacts before putting back together, i found putting a cable tie round the connectors to hold them together helped m8 :thumbup:

Is it flashing 4 times? if it isn't it will be something else.
