Hi Guys,

I'm looking to fit a towbar on a 2012 Titanium X Sport for a small camping trailer that i'll be using once/twice a year.

So far i've been quoted £635 for a Brink detachable with 7 pin dedicated wiring with coding or £493 for the same towbar with universal wiring with bypass.
Is there any major benefit of opting for the dedicated wiring over the universal? Does the universal wiring still need the software update?
From what I've read, the parking sensors are deactivated with the dedicated wiring/coding, however there's a button on the dash which turns them off so that wouldn't be an issue.

Any thoughts & advice would be appreciated.

Stupid prices, shop around.

The towbar itself is around £200 and maybe 2 hours to fit.

Dedicated wiring will deactivate the rear parking sensors and fog lights when the trailer is attached.
The bypass relay won't. Other than that there is not a lot in it.
