Hi All,
im new to the forums and also new to mondeos so please go gentle with me

i have a Ford Mondeo, S-reg (2001), 2.0l Zetec
the question i have is i know with vauxhalls they tend to fit the same wiring loom to the bog standard cars as they do the luxury models, is this true on the mondeos?

i was hoping to get cruise control fitted but really dont know what is involved in it?

I fitted cruise control to my Vectra (it was as simple as changing the indicator arm and having a Tec2 reprogram of the ECU done) is it more or less the same case with the fords?

its not that easy on a mondeo, you need a new steering wheel with cruise buttons and airbag, new set on pedal switches, instrument interface module, cruise module, trottle cable and a lot of wiring, can normally pick these kits up on auction sites for anywhere between £40 - £80, ive got a set of instructions i can email if you want

I am trying to get this done on my Mk1 Mondy too. Any chance you can email me a copy of those instructions. I have the Steering wheel with the controls but nothing else.

what email address do you want me to send the instructions to, this is possible to fit onto a v6 but you need a shorter cable to run from the cruise module near passenger side suspension to the throttle, the 4 cylinder version required a longer cable

Sorry to butt in, but I have a MK2 V6 Ghia X. Does it have cruise control? and where can I find info on how to use it, please?

the buttons on the steering wheel are a big clue as to whether your car has cruise fitted, no buttons either side of airbag mean no cruise control

yeah its possible.. exactley the same as a 4 pot except for that the actuator cable is shorter..

For either the 4-pot, or V6 you need the following bits from a donor car:

Cruise type steering wheel
Matching clockspring
Foot-pedal switches (with their plugs & part of the looms)
Actuator (with the plug & part of the loom)
Actuator bracket
Short throttle cable (V6), or Long throttle cable (4-pot)

I've recently sourced these bits for a MEGger here... cant remember who tho :whistling:
