Hi, hope somebody can help.

The battery light came on the other day, also the front demister does not work (push button to the right of the steering wheel, rear one still works).

I have checked all fuses with a meter and they are all fine.

Battery voltage is around 12v car off, it drops to around 11 with the car running and pretty much stays there with the revs higher and the lights on.

To me its got to be the alternator, but as its not easy to get to on the Mondeo I thought I would see if there was anything else to check as the front screen demister stopped at the same time.

I read online that the front screen demister was on the hi power line ( 30 amp fuses on it) and thought it might not work if the alternator isn't working ?

Many thank Alan

front window won't work unless you have enough power for it, (it won't turn on with engine off, either)

alternator bolt access is easier from the wheelarch.

Problem Sorted. Replaced Alternator, got one off ebay locally cheap that was only a week old.

Removed mudflap from behind wheel but managed to do it all from the top in the end.

Many Thanks
