Apologies if similar post already exists.

Recently acquired a 2.0l ecoboost, was having trouble with the stop start, reset BMS usig the methods found on the forum and all seems fine (for now) the car has only covered 7000 miles in the last 5 years! I planned on changing the battery at some point and today noticed what appears to be the wrong battery fitted by Halfords, an EFB110. I believe the correct battery to be 096.

Can anyone who knows the correct battery size confirm or advise?

Thanks

You need an EFB battery on your veh to suit the system and system should be reprogrammed
Tayna batts are good quality and price
Putting the reg of my 2L ecoboost Mk5 Mondeo into the Halfords site comes up with EFB 110

Thanks TreborB I was using the Tayna search which came up with 096. The EFB110 doesn't seem to fit but looking at it again it may have been poorly fitted; it isn't flat on the tray and slightly tilted. Will have a look at the recommendations, thanks again.

Yes, that's odd, My Mk5 Mondeo comes up with 096 on Tayna site but I think it says check what it says on label of your battery (Thats ok if you have correct batt in first place)

I have always been under the impression that the Mondeo Mk5 with it's stop/start system etc was set up for EFB batteries

Due to my car sitting idle for days at a time I fit the biggest battery that will fit in the tray. MK3 was 110
but the MK4 can get a 115 in there. Its tight though. Stupid having to remove the inlet pipes to swap a battery
where it was right there in front on the MK3.

I sometimes have to try different reg numbers on the parts sites though, my old MK3 it would only list the 100
size, but putting the reg for a later higher spec MK3 it offered the 110 size.

If using the car daily on a decent run then having a smaller battery wont make any difference as long as you
dont leave your lights on all day.
