Clean the IACV up with carb cleaner, the "kit" simply hides the symptoms...

i know i might sound really thick here but whats a IACV ?????? and where would i find it??

Remove, soak in carb cleaner until liquid turns black. Drain, refill, repeat until clear. Then work the valve up and down the shaft a billion times to help make sure it's free to move easily... :)

so its not a five minute fix then??
how easy is it to do as i aint that mechanically minded, and dont want to do any damage
It's... not too hard. One electrical connector, two bolts.

Using the longer pipe or drilled blanking plug masks the effects, but still lets them fester and eventually become a more significant problem than the noise. But it may be fine for a couple of years... :)

If you don't want to clean it I have a ready cleaned one for sale - it is polished & painted metallic red though!!
As Rich has said though it is a doddle to do. Just don't drop the bolts when you take them off - they're a bugger to find if you do & I know from experience!!!!!
It's also worth fitting a new gasket as well when you put it back on. Re-using the same gasket is false economy & can cause similar problems to what you are trying to fix by cleaning it.
I was hoping that anti moosing would involve some kind of massive bull bars....But then I could not remember the last time I saw a moose on british rods either :}
