I'm getting 25-26 mpg out of this, which equates to around 300 miles per tank. Towards the end, I was struggling to get 500 miles out of the 2.2 TDCi. I used to get closer to 600 miles out of it on the same journeys, so I don't know what happened. Anyway, it's dead now, so I will never know.

Round my way, diesel is 5p per litre more than petrol at the moment (is that the same everywhere?), so I reckon I'm getting about two thirds the miles per £ from the V6.

300 miles a tank is never gonna happen with my driving, more like 150, 200 if i 'behave' lol.
I rag it everywhere and on top of that, i am constantly pulling significant current from the alternator which is not helping on the MPG front, my car bucks to the beat from the drag the alternator is putting on the engine as it desperately tries to cope ha ha.

Had my old MK3 2L diesel down to an average of 29mpg over a full tank... Snowy weather and short trips to the
doctors and hospital in bad traffic. Why was visiting at 6pm??? Stupid...

Rover 825 V6 Honda engine did around 18mpg and got tappety after a week of short commutes, 160bhp but weighed
far less than a Mondeo. Sold that because it was fast and I drove it fast...

Final straw racing an Escort Turbo, thought this is not going to end well one day so I sold it.

Today I drove past a garage that was selling diesel for 30p per litre more than petrol. That must be some sort of recent record! Typical difference in price round my way is 15p to 20p per litre at this time.

My ST220 is getting less economical more slowly every day!

Petrol price at my local Tesco has dropped 8p in the last week or so (to £164.9 per litre), diesel is 22p more. At Texaco, diesel is 24p more then petrol. At these prices, is a new-ish diesel fuel economy still better than petrol?
