Just put a deposit down on a '99 V6 Ghia X which I'll pick up this week. 79k miles, FFSH, just serviced, 4 new tyres and appears to be in great condition throughout - all for 1500 pounds. I'm happy with that considering I just sold my one year newer Volvo S60 2.4T with nearly identical specification for 4500 .

I looked it over carefully for any signs of overheating or HG failure as I think that's common on this engine? Found no signs of it, but who knows....
I've seen lots of people mention replacing Ford's plastic water pumps with metal ones? Where would I get one, and what's the likely cost gonna be?

Anything else I need to worry about?

Thats a good price :L ....Did you try the air con?......Yours being a 99 it should have the later plastic impellor pump,which is a better quality plastic than the older black impellored pump.....Its still going to worth while to change it for a metal jobbie,better piece of mind and all that....
