Can anyone tell me how hard it would be to fit the lights below to my 2002 MK3 saloon?

A silver 2002 MK3 passed me over the weekend with these style lights fitted so I know it can be done, but is there much work involved in retro fitting them?

bulb holder the same, and will bolt straight in, but, you need to have reflectors, as these dont have them built in.

hi mate will be a straight swap, 3 x10mm nut to remove the old and the new fit in place, change over the bulb holder too.......20 min job.
reflectors will be needed, but i used red reflective tape from halfrauds on mine.... have a look

mines an 02 plate aswell

Done the same on mine.

Mine is an '04 (so clear indicators and built in reflectors). Now looks like this:

Excellent, thanks for the replies. I really like that style light and I think it will really improve the look of the car.
It makes the car look newer!
See, im of the opinion that less is more, especially on the silver cars. This is the back of mine. I put the first face lights on mine (off Leesylv's car as it happens.... :L !!)

I think they look really good on a silver motor. No nasty orange, no chrome. Pure, plain, simple, uncluttered and uncomplicated

My car is black, and I think the newer style lights paricularly suit black cars. I'll stick up a before and after pic once I get them.
hi
ive fitted later type rear lights to my car with chrome strip do they have the reflectors already built in to them and if not will my car fail the mot
No, you need to add reflectors, facelift had them in rear valance, and no it wont pass mot without reflectors, buy after market ones?
any ideas with reflectors and where i can put them i have the zetec s rear bumper fitted
KElv, you will be desperately unlucky to fail the mot. Most testers wont even notice. If they do, put your old lights back on and take it for a retest. Sorted!
I have pondered this a lot as well and came to the same conclusion as Ben, for my car, machine silver, the first facelift lights look best for the type of look I'm after... smooth clean lines!
I hadnt even considered this you know. I've put the final facelift rear lights onto mine and didnt realise about the reflectors.

Come MOT time I think I'll be switching back to the originals just so it dont fail the MOT, then put the newer ones back on for another year. :}

Just buy some reflective tape from E-bay (I did) and it'll pass. Plus, you can shape it to your tastes. Look at mine:

That looks good and would do the trick :L . Im not very good when it comes to making up things like that though, but your pics help.

How did you get the postioning right ?

Or you could fit the colour coded lower valence with the reflectors built in
