Good morning all,
Long story short. OEM Sony HU Bluetooth started playing up, purchased and fitted a Pioneer SPH-160DAB Android Auto head unit.
Everything works great except.....
I have no dimming option, and the maps work turn on to dark mode when my headlights come on.
A bit of investigation later, I find that the quad lock connector from the OEM car loom is missing pin14 (illumination signal). The orange wire should go between the grey and light brown cable slots. See pic.....

Apparently, the mk4 send a signal via canbus for the OEM Sony headunit to dim.
I now have a £350 headunit that I can only really use during the day. Can anyone help to point me in the direction of either addibf a signal wire, or a wire that I can tap into.

Thanks in advance.

Display settings you can turn the dimmer on and off.

Separate day and night brightness settings.

Connect the bulb illumination connection from the cigarette lighter into the missing pin to the head unit. I had the same problem when replacing the DAB head unit on my Tit x. It works and is a nice cheap solution. 👍
