First time caller here - and first ford since my old MK1 Cortina.

I have a very faint check engine light - can only see it when dark out and dash lights dimmed.

Also have what a suspect is a high pressure fuel pump failing, as the car loses power at hign revs, load.

I've plugged in a scanner that works in other vehicles - no power/connection here. As I recall a mechanic couldn't get a signal with his unit either.

Car is RHD, 2.0 ecoboost, Titanium spec, 145000 km.

Any ideas for me? Thanks in advance.

At this engine, high pressure fuel pump is very reliable, worn pump can be recognized by high knocking and/or whining noise.

What software are you using and what OBD tool?

I had one that would not work with the ELMconfig software, turned out to be a

rubbish reader. New one looked identical but this one actually works.

Too many clones with unknown chips in them.

It's a Kogan reader. Works fine on a few other vehicles. Just won't connect to the Mondeo. I read in a few places could be a power/fuse issue - possibly the 12V lighter, power.
