hi all,

after replacing the engine oil and making 4000 km of road, almost half of which was long distance driving with the car is fully loaded with my family and luggage, i have noticed that the oil level dropped to minimum mark on the stick and i had to add around 100 cc oil. is this normal or an indication of engine wear??? is it helpful to decide on the engine wear by measuring the cylinder pressures?? there is no problem on exhaust gas emission values. my car is a '98 2.0 zetec with 230.000 km on the dial and i am using AC Delco 5W30 engine oil...

I wouldn't worry, a little oil consumption is fine, just keep an eye on it, I use about 1/2 Liter every 8,000 km, and the thing runs like a dream.
