Depends on the car, You do get what you pay for though.

Cheaper filters are likely to have less filtering material.

I understand that. Hence me asking what brand you guys use.

I don't rate k&n oil or air filters.
Personally I like mann or mahle. Also mercedes use mann as there oem filters...

But what are other people's views on filtration?

I use the motorcraft or FoMoCo filters when possible and the Ford formula F 5w30 oil also Castrol 5w30 oil.

I've just shell helix ford spec 5w30 fully.
5ltrs for £15 from eurocarparts that I thought was a bargain.

Mann genuine and Mann aftermarket aren't always the same.

There's a funny display in my local merc dealer, they have a genuine oil filter next to what they call a pattern filter... It's undisclosed the brand....Pattern one looks almost identical to the genuine one, so must both be Mann.. But the pleating isn't as dense... Merc tend to use Guttman also
