I have just had the coil pack changed on my 2000 (V) Mondeo Zetec and the Ford garage I took it too have told me that the HT leads I have on the car are not the right ones. They are champion leads and plugs purchased from autocom who tell me they are the right ones. The ford garage have told me that ford have changed the end of the lead that plugs onto the spark plug and if I dont change the leads to Ford ones soon then the coil pack will knacker again, something to do with a bad connection at the plug end!

As anyone else heard anything like this?

if the change is at the spark plug end, and you are using champion leands AND plugs, then i really dont see how it can be affected. Unless the coil pack end is differnt

The guy said it was the end that connects to the plug!

Is he just trying to sell me some new leads and plugs then?
