I’ve replaced the roof mounted aerial on my 2008 titaniumX as it was letting in water, this old Ariel had the Sat nav reception in it but I replaced the Sat nav side with a new dashboard mounted one which is fine some time ago. Obviously the water ingression had buggered the Sat nav signal circuitry within hence the new aerial. The new standard aerial I bought off Amazon (pretty cheaply) but the radio reception now is very poor and only really picks up the stronger BBC channels. I cut off the sat nav connection as I know it’s unplugged from the back of the radio (factory fitted original blaupunkt travelpilot) and just secured the green radio cable taking care to clean both the surfaces before securing back to the roof. Do I suspect that I’ve bought a cheap n nasty replacement aerial or have I done something wrong ???
