my mum had a prob where the battrey was going flat after a couple of day ..we looked at the cells and they were dry so refilled them but it happent again...so a new battrey later and after about 10 days it did it again...so we swapped it from a 3amp to a 3amp battrey and it seems to be ok fingers crossed do you think it could be something else though... shes had no other probs that would suggest anything else..she doesnt use it a lot and wondered if it might be that

It will just be that the old battery was on its way out and the cold weather finally killed it, all should be ok now :L

well it still drained the first new battrey but as i say it was only a 3amp but hopefully its sorted

No just a dead battery where cells buckle, and loose the electrolte levels, worth checking the alternator.

Could be the cold weather, it only takes a few days off no use, or very shorts trips to blead them dry. id be giving the battery a top up on an indoor charger if its used for less then half hour a day in these colder temps.

worth putting a voltmeter across the battery , then rev the engine up and hold it steady at say 4000 rpm , anymore than about 14.5 volts and it points to the voltage regulator going south , just be aware that a is a potential bomb if it is getting too much juice to it :sad:
