Hi,
my 98 1.8 td estate has developed radio interference when the lights are on and particularly when it is cold. buzz, buzz, buzz etc. I suspect a bad earth somewhere but sure where I should be looking for them? Anyone know if I am on the right track and wear they are?

a dodgy ground can cause that, but it could also be feedback from a power supply. as for where to lock, clean up all your abttery and power feeds and connections, and all body grounds.

I have exactly the same problem, but it tends to arise a bit more when the car is warming up inside I think.

No, not solved. Actually there seems to be no sense to it. I have just had a couple of days with absolutely no probs. But sometimes I can have a couple of days with no effective reception. This bloke seems to have similar problems...

I had the same in my 99 estate, I found that the interference lessened when I turned down the dashboard lighting, solved it by cutting earth from the trip computer and linking the trip to the earth from the cigarette lighter instead. Logic - the variable signal from the computer was going through the radio because of a bad earth that I couldn't find.
