Replacing with michelin

1221 Views 7 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  Faisal
My car came with faulty Continental sport contact 2 tyres that had become uneven due to the prolonged period the car had spent in the dealership warehouse. The dealer has agreed to change them for free but they've decided to replace them with Michelin tyres instead as the sport contact 2 is not produced any more. I'm just curious to know what would be an adequate replacement tyre in the Michelin line up...My current ones specs are 235/40 ZR 18 95Y...

Thanks in advance

The Pilot Sport 2 and 3 are available in that size.

The Continentals 2 and 3 are still available, but are slightly cheaper.

In a tyre test at mytyres.co.uk, the Michelin came out better.
My Mondy was supplied new with Michelin Primacy although they were 16's. Good all round tyre, and only started to get a bit skiddy when they got to 2mm. I had them replaced with the same tyre when they were worn out
The guys at ford installed Pirelli P Zero Rosso tyres instead of Michelin ones....Are these any good??

Faisal,
they come out similar to the Michelins, slightly cheaper though. Tyre wear is average
Grip in snow is rubbish and the wet is good (shouldn't affect you over there), dry grip is excellent

What were the symptoms of your uneven tyre wear?
It wasn't uneven tyre wear...the tyres had become wavy due to prolonged time the car spend in the warehouse...
